Breastfeeding after a C-Section, Can I breastfeed?

Updated: May 19

Of course, you can always breastfeed after a C- Section and t is not true that your milk will come in any less. I myself am a survivor of having a C- Section. Many Doctors and Nurses WILL try to push you into pumping when it is not recommended until 4-6 weeks after your milk has regulated.

You are more than capable of breastfeeding your precious new baby and you should start with skin to skin. In times of hardships, I encourage you to do what you have planned to do for your child or children. Remember that knowledge is power and I want you to feel comfortable in starting your journey of motherhood off right!

My first C- Section I remember how traumatic it was. My doctor was nothing short of horrible and maybe it was because I was " So young". Nevertheless, I was an adult and I wanted to breastfeed so badly. I was discourage in the hospital as a young black mom and I want you to know that you can do it.

If you have a C- Section and are not feeling like you are supported. You can reach out to and we will support you virtually and send someone in your area to help assist you.

Always know that #youdeservetheworld & #youaretheBOM
